The Playtex Moonwalk, 18th-19th June 2005

My sponsorship page

Hours of decoration..!

Leaving them to wine...

...I get properly dressed to travel across London to Hyde Park.

Waiting (from 8pm) in the tent with some fab music, including Bjorn Again.

More decoration on the back!

11.22 - finally - the start

11.75 miles, outside Albert Hall, around 3am

Daylight starts to break at 14 miles

2nd time past, Houses of Parliament look pretty stunning at about 5am

Past the Millenium Wheel, a bit later!

Looking back at streams still trudging on at about 20 miles (I finally picked up a blister at about 17 miles)

Big Ben, again, 7.05am, nearly 24 miles!

25 miles - the end is getting closer, but it was a long mile to... (and no, I wasn't walking in the wrong direction!)

26 miles.. and we said the .2 after that would be significant - it certainly felt it!

The finish at 7.53am!

Kicked off the trainers and threw that hard won medal on the floor to crash out back in Clapham at about 9.30am, only to wake up 2 hours later in so much pain I couldn't turn over/sleep.. thanks to the lovely Justine & Matt who gave me Ibuprofen, Deep Heat and Ice Packs, before I crashed out again until 4pm!
